Davos

Davos, the largest mountain resort of Europe, offers unforgettable natural experiences and a broad range of delights. And anyone favouring the tranquil idyl over the agitated life in the thriving center will find peace and quiet at heart of nature in the wide Davos outdoors.

In the 13th century, when the Walsers settled in the Davos region to live as farmers, no one thought of Davos as becoming Europe's highest altitude holiday town some 700 years later.

The shift from peasant village to international health resort was initiated by Dr. Alexander Spengler's discovery of the curing influence the Davos climate has on tuberculosis. Today, Davos is a dynamic alpine resort and tourist region offering a wide range of activities in the Alps all year round.

Davos offers an exceptional variety of infrastructures, services and activities designed to address a diversity of needs. When it comes to quality, guests staying in Davos feel as if they are with friends. For more about Davos, see www.davos.ch.
