The City of Aspen Engineering Dept has revised the fee schedule as of July 1, 2011. Please make note of the new fees in order to better plan for fees associated with any upcoming construction projects. Please see below for additional fee information.
Additionally, the City of Aspen has made changes to policies that will affect the total cost associated with the permits. Specifically, all encroachments will be assessed a landlease fee. This will include pedestrian walkways, staging areas for excavation equipment and other construction vehicles, or other occupation of the City Right of Way.

The Stormwater System Development Fee of $2.88 per square foot of impervious area has been repealed and is no longer in affect for permits submitted after June 8, 2011.
Projects submitting for building permit after June 8, 2011 should review changes that have been made to Chapters 1 and 5 of the URMP as they will be required to meet revised standards. Additionally the City has adopted a fee-in-lieu of detention option. More information about this fee can be found here.

Note: Additional Plan Review required by changes, additions, revisions to plans will be charged a fee of $265/hr (minimum review of 1/2 hr)

*Fifty percent of the construction mitigation fee will be collected at permit submission and the remaining upon permit issuance.
Incentive: For those sites that do not receive any violations for the entire duration of construction, 10% of the construction mitigation fee will be reimbursed.
**Gross Square Footage(SF) of the project is defined as the floor area inside the outside walls.
