Are there restricted pesticides in Colorado?
“Restricted Use Pesticides” are pesticides that require a special additional applicator license for use. These pesticides are not available to the public due to the hazards they potentially pose to human and environmental health. It may be worthwhile to look for alternatives to these pesticides if you or your applicator plan to use any Restricted Use Pesticides.
All herbicides containing any of the following active ingredients are restricted:
- Sodium Chlorate
- Sodium Metaborate
All State and Federally regulated pesticides can be found on the Colorado Department of Agriculture's website.
To find out more about common household chemicals and pesticides go to the Kelly Registration Systems List. This website lets you search by main ingredient, company name, pest, EPA ID, and many more.
