Risk Management


The Risk Management Department is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all staff and the general public as well as fostering a philosophy of preventative safety throughout the organization.

Risk Management provides a variety of services to Pitkin County departments and employees. These services include:

  •     Provision of safety training programs
  •     Assistance and support to departments in regulatory compliance issues related to safety
  •     Promotion and education of safe work practices including the recognition and correction of
        hazardous work environments
  •     Administration of claims for workers' compensation and casualty/property insurance
  •     Procurement of insurance for County programs and services
