Summer Seasonal Employee Program
Definition Seasonal Employee: an employee hired to do a specific job for a specific season.
Compensation- OST Maintenance Crew and Land Mgmt & Restoration Intern: $15.00 - $19.00/hr
First year hire wage range: $15.00 –$17.50/hr (depending on knowledge, experience and education)
- OST Crew Leader/Land Management Tech Leader: $18.00 - $23.00/hr
First year hire wage range: $18.00 –$20.50/hr (depending on knowledge, experience and education)
- OST Seasonal Ranger: $18.00 - $23.00/hr
First year hire wage range: $18.00 –$20.50/hr (depending on knowledge, experience and education)
- Employees returning after his/her first season may receive a wage increase based on the prior year’s performance.
Paid time-off benefit1st season employees accrue Paid Time-Off Leave at a rate of 5 hours per 80-hour pay period up to a season maximum of 30 hours.
Returning seasonal employees, who have worked through the end of the prior year season, accrue 10 hours of Paid Time-Off Leave per 80 hour pay period or 8.5% of total hours paid up to 80 hour pay period.
Upon termination, any unused Paid Time-Off Leave is paid to the employee.
End-of Season IncentiveEmployees hired into Full-Season positions who successfully complete the season (end of September) receive the following end-of-season incentives:
- First Year ................. $200
- Second Year ............ $300
- Third Year or more ... $400
- More than three years - $400 plus $50 for each additional year of service as a Full Seasonal
employee.
Employees hired into Mid-Season positions (June – August) who successfully complete the season (on or about August 15) receive the following end-of-season incentives:
- First Year .................. $100
- Second Year ............. $125
- Third Year or more .... $150
Clothing AllowanceSeasonal employees are eligible for $125 clothing allowance. Eligible seasonal employees must submit a completed Clothing and Tool Allowance agreement to receive the allowance.
