The Open Space and Trails Board of Trustees (OSTB) is considered a policy/advisory board for Pitkin County.  The OSTB acquires, preserves, maintains and manages open space properties for multiple purposes including, but not limited to, recreational, wildlife, agricultural, scenic and access purposes; and to acquire, preserve, develop,maintain and manage trails for similar purposes. Five trustees are appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) representing each Commissioner’s district.  Each Trustee serves a five year term without pay and may not hold or be employed by any other county or municipal office.  OSTB meetings generally occur at 9 a.m. the first and third Thursday of each month. (check OSTB Meeting Schedule)  Quarterly meetings with the BOCC occur at 9 a.m. on a Tuesday. Meetings last about 3-5 hours. Contact Fran Soroka for additional information at 920-5232.
