After another successful season,
Winter Wonderland at the ARC is CLOSED
for the rest of the 2011-2012 Winter
The Aspen Recreation Center’s Winter Wonderland features all these great outdoor activities that are perfect for après or just an afternoon family outing.
Take a ride on the “Whoa Nelly” Sledding Hill. Grab your friends and hang on to your hats! See who can race down the hill first – winner carries the other sled back up the hill.
Whether you have fresh new snow or are sledding down the dips and jumps created by other sled goers you’re going to have fun. Bring your own equipment and sled for FREE!
After you’ve finished your ride down the sledding hill strap on your skates and try out the new outdoor skating pond – the ARC-tic Pond. During dusk the lights turn on and the twinkling trees help give it that magical, nighttime ambiance.
You’re not done yet! If you couldn’t fit in all in for one day – come back the next and test out your cross-country skiing or snowshoes skills. With 3 new trails that take you around the Aspen Recreation Center it’s the perfect way to spend Aspen’s blue bird days outdoors.
If you’re looking for a more athletic endeavor take a look at the cross-country map that boasts over 90 kilometers of trails from Snowmass to Aspen.
