Police Reports
The Records Department has developed policies and procedures regarding the release of reports which is in compliance with Colorado state statutes and are dependent on a variety of circumstances, including but not limited to the type of report, status of the investigation, and ages of the individuals involved. Colorado state statutes prohibit the general release of reports or information relating to at-risk adults, juveniles, and on-going police investigations. In some instances, the released report may have certain information redacted.
Accident Reports
Basic traffic accidents may be released as soon as the officer has completed the report. They can be obtained online at DocView, an internet site which allows access to traffic accident reports in a more efficient manner. Individuals who do not have access to the internet may submit a completed Request for Report Copy form to the APD Records Department.
Aspen Arrest History
The Records Department can provide an arrest history listing of all arrests made by the Aspen Police Department for a named individual. Requests must include the full name and date of birth of the person to be researched.
