The Aspen Police Department provides VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) inspections for vehicles that have been titled in another state which are now being registered in Pitkin County. In order to perform the inspection, we need the following items:
- Vehicle
Park at the west of the Courthouse. - The title, registration, or Bill of Sale
- Driver’s license
- The fee of $19.00.
This fee will increase to $20.00 in 2010.
We will run the information through our computer system and then go out to the car to inspect the VIN number. We will give you the VIN Inspection Form to take with you to the Clerk and Recorder. Should you have any questions about this process, please call us at (970) 920-5400.
