Welcome to Pitkin County Online Auction
- All items are posted online on the first Wednesday of every month and will go off 8 days later on a Thursday.
- Notice of Award will be sent to highest bidder via email, and an email will be sent to all other bidders with end confirmation.
- Winner has 8 days from the item end date to pickup and pay for their item; after the 8 days Pitkin County has the authority to re-post the item for sale, or keep the item, and penalize the winner that did not pick up their item.

Pitkin County Bid & Buyers Agreement
As a buyer, you must, and hereby do, agree to all of the following:
- You may only use our services if you are at least 18 years of age, are mentally competent, and can form legally binding contracts under applicable law.
- You may not retract, amend or modify a bid without prior approval by the Seller.
- You will be financially responsible for any bids placed once your email is sent to the seller.
- You must be capable of removing the property from its location within the required time frame of 8 days. You must make arrangements prior to pickup with the Public Works Office; contact Melissa Sever at (970) 920-5390.
- Except as otherwise stated in writing by the Seller on the Site, you understand that all assets are sold “as is, where is.”
- Pitkin County charges no fees for you to make bids or purchases on our site. However, if you bid on an item, are the successful bidder, and do not purchase the item, you may, at our option, be assessed a service fee equal to $100 or 40% of your successful bid price, whichever is greater.
- Winners have 8 days from the item end date to pick up and pay for purchased items; after 8 days Pitkin County has the authority to re-post the item for sale, or keep the item, and assess a service and storage fee equal to $100 or 40% of the successful bid price, whichever is greater. Items not claimed within 90 days of the item end date shall be re-posted for sale, and all bid monies and fees received shall be deemed forfeited to Pitkin County.
- At the close of an auction in which you have the winning bid, you agree to make payment for the total amount due, and all applicable stated fees, using payment methods provided by Pitkin County within 8 business days of receiving the Notice of Award via email. Payment Methods are: Cashiers Check, Money Order, or Cash. NOTE: Credit Cards will NOT be accepted.
- Pitkin County is not responsible for any damages or losses related to any system errors or interruptions affecting its Site and the processing of any emails. You understand and acknowledge that the Site and our Services may be unavailable unexpectedly.
- This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Pitkin County, and supersedes any previous agreements, whether oral or in writing, between you and Pitkin County. Pitkin County may, at its sole discretion, remove or change any aspect of this Agreement; if Pitkin County does make such changes to the Agreement, you will be required to re-accept the amended Agreement before conducting further business on this Site.
