Jail Visitation Rules
We have written these guidelines to assist you and enhance your visit at the Pitkin County Jail. If you have any questions, please ask an on-duty deputy. Pitkin County Jail would like you to be aware of the following:
Visiting will take place every day of the year. The schedule is as follows:
Monday through Friday: 6:30 to 7:30 pma
Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 to 11:00 am
It is a felony to introduce contraband into a detention facility. Contraband is any object or subsance deemed illegal by state statute or unauthorized by jail rules.
To ensure the safety and security of the facility, visitors may be searched.
Upon entering the jail, every visitor must provide a valid photo ID. Acceptable identifiation includes a Driver's license, State Identification Card, current Passport or Military ID.
Warrant checks will be done on every visitor entering this facility.
Visitors may contribute cash only (no checks) to an inmate's account. Reading materials, Cds, cassette tapes are limited to 3 (three) at each visit. Please do not bring toiletries, food items, sodas or juices.
Lockers are provided for storage of your coats, hats, packages, purses, tobacco products, etc. before entering the jail.
Any visitor under the age of eighteen (18) must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian with documentation.
Visits are limited to three (3) family members or friends at one time.
Please follow the directions of the jail deputy regarding the sitting arrangement of your visit.
All visits will be monitored by a deputy.
There are
no
tobacco products, lighters or matches allowed in this facility.
The jail will deny visiting privileges when:
The visitor is under or suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The inmate refuses to see the visitor.
The visitor is suspected of smuggling contraband into the facility.
The visitor is disruptive in his/her behavior.
The visitor has been an inmate of the jail during the thirty (30) days prior to the visit.
Visits may be terminated abruptly because of circumstances beyond our control. Please cooperate with the Deputies.
