Aspen, CO – August 3, 2012– The City of Aspen is pleased to announce the band Anthem will perform on Wednesday, August 22nd at 6:30pm in Wagner Park as part of the festivities for Stage 3 of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge Race in Aspen.

Anthem is a 70s classic rock cover band that pays homage to the virtuoso musicianship and masterpiece compositions that proliferated during that decade. Songs Anthem plays are based on the music’s ground-breaking influence during this integral and romantic period in Rock and Roll history.  Anthem performs in synch to a video filled with an array of live performance clips, visual effects and other powerful images, that tell a "story" about each song.

“We are thrilled to have Anthem play,” said Nancy Lesley, Special Events Director for the City of Aspen.  “Having this concert and this energizing band will cap off a great first day of events and activities in celebration of a world-class race and a world-class community.”

The concert caps off a day of celebrations and activities that include a street chalking event at 8:30 am followed by local kids, citizen and elected officials bike races, a bike stunt show and the professional racers coming into town in the late afternoon.
