Courtroom Decorum and Press Lottery Finalized

 

ASPEN, CO - 01/19/2010 – 9th Judicial Court Judge James Boyd has issued a Decorum Order for all proceeding in the People of The State of Colorado vs. Carlos Irwin Estevez. The Decorum Order does apply to the Wednesday, January 20, 2010 appearance of Carlos Irwin Estevez, also known as Charlie Sheen, at 9AM for a motion hearing to modify a mandatory protection order at the Pitkin County Courthouse.

 

According to the Decorum Order, all devices capable of taking, recording, or broadcasting visual images or sounds and phones, computers, and devices capable of communicating from inside the courtroom to outside the courtroom are prohibited.

 

The Decorum Order also outlines courtroom occupancy and identifies that 20 of available 60 seats inside the District Court courtroom are reserved for press. Of the 20 press seats, five are reserved for local Aspen media and the remaining seats are available by lottery to all other media outlets. The lottery for both press courtroom attendance and satellite truck parking was held on Tuesday, January 19 at 10AM. For those who made a lottery submission, check your email for a confirmation of your entry status. For press members selected, arrive no later than 8AM and be prepared to show identification to enter the courthouse.
