Aspen's Bus Lanes

bus lane two

Find your line. Carve some time.

Carve some Time!

Ride RFTA and get into and out of Aspen Faster! Call 970-925-8484 for route and schedule information.

Who can use the Bus Lanes?

The bus lanes are for RFTA buses and emergency vehicles only, 24 hours daily, 7 days per week. Failure to comply with the designated bus lanes may result in a three-point ticket and a $100 fine. For more information, click here.

What about right turns?

Need to turn right? Use the striping on the roadway as a guide. Do not cross double white lines.

What if emergency vehicles are approaching?

If an emergency vehicle is approaching, stay in your lane. The emergency vehicle will pass using the bus lane.

How does the ABC signal work?

From 6 - 9 am, the signal at the ABC intersection provides buses and carpools in the carpool lane with a head start. Make sure to pay attention to the signal for your lane, moving forward only when your signal turns green.

How should I merge near Harmony Road?

The carpool and single occupant vehicle lanes merge from left to right into one lane prior to the Harmony Road intersection. Follow roadway striping prior to the Harmony Road signal. Please be patient and polite.
