Utilities

The City of Aspen’s municipal utility operates hydropower facilities and purchases offsite wind power, and because of that, 75% of our electricity comes from clean, renewable sources. Our goal is to bring this number up to 100% in the next five years. You can also make a difference and help Aspen transform itself into a sustainable, environmentally responsible community.

Our energy supply is currently 45% hydroelectric and 26% wind power. By showing the economic viability of renewable energy, we hope this model will be adapted worldwide.
