Let's Foray! Interested in knowing the basics in identifying fungi? Then join our local mushroom enthusiast Hilary Burgess. We’ll meet for a one hour talk about collection technique, making spore prints and habitat observation, and then go on a hike to put our new knowledge to work. Beginners to experts are welcome and encouraged. Well-behaved children are welcome when accompanied by a guardian.
We will announce the wilderness rendezvous point the day of the class, and we will carpool there and back. Plan to wear sturdy shoes and long pants as we will be off trail much of the time.
Please bring the following to the talk:
Lunch, paper lunch bags or wax sandwich bags (no plastic bags), pen/pencil, tote bags, sharp knife, bug spray, sunscreen, and mushroom field guides if you have them.
