We just found out about a great new resource for the Roaring Fork Valley.
It's called Aspen Freecycle: http://www.freecycle.org/group/United%20States/Colorado/Aspen
The site lets you post things that you are wanting to get rid of (right now there's a washer and dryer in Carbondale up for grabs and a minibike in Missouri Heights, among other items). You can also post things that you want -- like a bed or a couch. It's somewhat like Craig's List, but their mission is quite different.
This from the Freecycle Website: "Our mission is to build a worldwide gifting movement that reduces waste, saves precious resources & eases the burden on our landfills while enabling our members to benefit from the strength of a larger community."
The City of Aspen can definitely get on board with that. So, check it out, and let us know what you think.
