Our First Tourist Adoption

2/16/2010 9:21 AM

The first tourist participants in the newly-launched Adopt A Tourist program are in town from Texas (mostly from Texas... it's a group of ten!).

Last night we met at the Mustang Bar and Restaurant in Aspen for some drinks and appetizers (thanks to the Mustang for donating so generously to our first AAT group). Andrew Kole (Commercial Core and Lodging Commission member) and Aspen Mayor Mick Ireland were also there to officially welcome the group to town.

Local Adopter Gail Mason has officially adopted the tourists for the week and met them on Sunday night as well. She has plans to take the group out skiing on Wednesday, and we hope to meet them for a few runs too.

The group, pictured below, came READY for Mardi Gras with tons of beads. You may be lucky enough to ride the gondola with them and get a few beads on the ride. If you see them on the mountain, say hello!
