The Aspen Area Community Plan (AACP) Update is drawing to a close, and
the City of Aspen and Pitkin County are asking the community to give
their input again as adoption of the plan nears completion.
The AACP is a document of critical importance to both the City and the
County. It is incorporated in the land use codes by reference and is
used to set annual budgeting and work program priorities.
We are inviting the public to a series of upcoming Large Group Meetings
November 15, 16 and 17 at the Wheeler Opera House. These sessions will
include keypad clicker questions, an opportunity to ask questions about
the plan and an informational open house. Prizes, including ARC passes
and golf passes, will be awarded to some lucky participants.
Sessions will be:
Monday, November 15: 5:15 - 6:15 p.m.
Tuesday, November 16: 12 – 1 p.m.
Wednesday, November 17: 5:15 - 6:15 p.m.
City Council, the Board of County Commissioners and the City and County
Planning & Zoning Commissions will use the feedback received in the
Small Group Meetings and the Large Group Meetings to make changes and
refinements to the plan.
Following the Large Group Meetings, the joint City and County Planning
and Zoning Commissions, the City Council and the Board of County
Commissioners will hold traditional public hearings, providing another
opportunity for public feedback.
Can’t attend a meeting? Please provide your comments on our blog (http://aspencommunityvision.blogspot.com/) or on our Facebook Page (Join the Aspen Area Community Plan Update group). Each of these can be accessed from the “Adoption” page on www.aspencommunityvision.com.
