Snowmass, Pitkin County, Colorado – January 18, 2012 – On Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at approximately 01:45 p.m., the Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a 45 year old male subject injured on Burnt Mountain. The caller stated that the injured skier had been caught in an avalanche. Burnt Mountain is located outside of the ski area boundary adjacent to the Snowmass Ski Area in Snowmass, CO.

Snowboarder Dies After Collision With Tree At Highlands Wednesday, January 18, 2012 (514 reads)
Pitkin County, Colorado – January 18, 2012 – The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office was notified at 1318 hours of a male who had collided with a tree at the Aspen Highlands ski area. Dispatchers with the Aspen/Pitkin County Communications Center learned from the caller, a member of the Aspen Highlands Ski Patrol that CPR was in progress at the time of the call.
