Pitkin County, Colorado – April 16, 2012 – On Monday, April 16, at approximately 12:05 in the afternoon, the Aspen/Pitkin County Combined Communications Center received a call of a man unconscious and not breathing inside a home in the Twin Ridge subdivision. Responding deputies from the Pitkin County Sheriff's office, along with members of Aspen Ambulance confirmed that the man was deceased.

Deputies were told an intoxicated Woody Creek man had fired several gunshots outside of his home, and then retreated inside.
