Local Agencies Participate in Prescription Drug Take-Back Friday, September 17, 2010 (2179 reads)
The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office, Basalt Police, City of Aspen and Pitkin County Environmental Health departments and the Aspen Police will be participating in the first-ever nationwide prescription drug take-back day. The Drug Enforcement Administration and government, community, public health and law enforcement partners are working together to prevent increased pill abuse and theft. The DEA, through our local agencies, will be collecting potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs for destruction on Saturday, September 25th from 10AM to 2PM local time. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

Aspen Police Arrest Suspect for Multiple Offenses at St. Moritz Tuesday, September 14, 2010 (2247 reads)
At 12:33AM on Monday, September 13, 2009 the Aspen Pitkin County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a domestic violence incident at 334 W. Hyman Ave, at the St. Moritz Lodge. Aspen Police officers were dispatched to the scene immediately, per protocol. Upon investigation, Officer Loudon placed the suspect under arrest, 28 year old Charles Brandon White (DOB: June 12, 1982).

On Saturday, September 11 Mothers Against Drunk Driving of Colorado will be honoring law enforcement officers throughout the state of Colorado at their 2010 MADD Colorado statewide Law Enforcement Recognition Event. The Aspen Police Department will be recognized for Outstanding Team Dedication to DUI Enforcement (Mountain) and, specifically, Officer Tina Schairer of the Aspen Police Department will be recognized as Outstanding School Resource Officer.
