Tom Clapper Moved to Acute Long-Term Care Facility

(Denver, CO) Tom Clapper, husband of County Commissioner Patti Kay-Clapper remains in serious but stable condition after suffering a cardiac arrest in Aspen recently. Clapper, a candidate for Pitkin County Commissioner, was moved yesterday from University Hospital to Select Specialty Hospital in Denver for “aggressive neurologic and pulmonary physical rehabilitation.”

“Tommy has made some progress so far. We’re hopeful he’ll get the rehab he now needs for a full recovery,” said Clapper’s wife, County Commissioner Patti Kay-Clapper. “He has had lots of visits from close friends and that’s the best medicine of all,” Clapper said.

A Clapper Family Fund to help the family offset medical expenses has been set up at Alpine Bank, 600 E. Hopkins Ave. in Aspen. Cards may be sent to:

Select Specialty Hospital

Attn: Tom Clapper

1719 E. 19th Ave., 5B

Denver, CO  80218

To track Tommy’s progress and send messages of encouragement online go to www.caringbridge.org/visit/tommyclapper/mystory.

The Clapper family extends heartfelt thanks for all of the support they are receiving from the Aspen/Pitkin County community.
