Top FAA Official to Attend Airport Operator's Conference in Aspen

(Aspen, CO) Acting Associate Administrator for the Federal Aviation Administration, Kate M. Lang joins 130 airport officials from across Colorado at the Colorado Airport Operators Association (CAOA) Spring Conference at the Aspen Meadows this week.

“It’s exciting for us to be hosting this conference in Aspen,” said Aspen/Pitkin County Airport Director, Jim Elwood. “As airport operators we need opportunities for “face time” with each other and officials like Ms. Lang to discuss airport issues of regional and national significance,” Elwood said.

The three-day conference begins Wednesday, May 5th and runs through Friday, May7th at the Aspen Meadows. Highlights of the agenda for regional airport officials include “Things You Should Know But Are Afraid to Ask About the Environment,” “Everything You Want to Know About Air Space,” and discussions about airport security, among other topics.

“The airport officials I’ve spoken to are excited about coming to Aspen for this conference. The hotels have been generous with their off-season rates and seem happy to have the business,” Elwood said.

The CAOA serves the common interests of the owners, operators and users of the 79 public use airports in Colorado providing a unified voice for airport operators to State and Federal agencies, the General Assembly and U.S. Congress. It’s also a forum for the exchange of ideas, methods and experiences among airport operators.
