Skate Park Cleanup This Weekend
The City of Aspen Parks and Recreation Department will be holding a cleanup event in the Rio Grande Skate Park this weekend.
On Saturday, July 31, volunteers will be needed from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. to help sand and clear-coat the skate park bowls, wash spills from concrete surfaces and remove gravel from the area.
Pizza and refreshments will be served to all volunteers.
“This is a great opportunity for local skaters to come together and help maintain this amazing community asset,” said Brian Long, parks and open space ranger. “Plus, it’s a fun way to pitch in, help the community and get to know other local skaters.”
Due to the work, portions of the skate park will be closed from 6 a.m. on Saturday until 10 a.m. on Sunday, August 1.
