Aspen Police Arrest Suspect for Multiple Offenses at St. Moritz

ASPEN, CO - 09/14/2010 – At 12:33AM on Monday, September 13, 2009 the Aspen Pitkin County Communications Center received a 911 call reporting a domestic violence incident at 334 W. Hyman Ave, at the St. Moritz Lodge. Aspen Police officers were dispatched to the scene immediately, per protocol. Upon investigation, Officer Loudon placed the suspect under arrest, 28 year old Charles Brandon White (DOB: June 12, 1982).

During the course of the incident, White was combative and resisted arrest. Additional officers were dispatched to the scene to assist. White’s violent behavior compelled officers to use a Taser in the process of gaining his compliance. And several officers sustained minor injuries. Out of concern for his welfare and due to his violent conduct, White was transported to Aspen Valley Hospital for medical evaluation.

“This type of violent incident is unusual,” said Sergeant Mike Tracey, “and we take every precaution to protect the victim, citizens in the area, the arrestee, and ourselves.”

White is currently being held at the Pitkin County Jail awaiting advisement by a Pitkin County District Court Judge on assault and domestic violence charges.  Arrest offenses for White include:  Simple Assault, Class 1 Misdemeanor (CRS 18-3-204(a)); Domestic Violence, Class 1 Misdemeanor (CRS 18-6-801.5); two counts of Child Abuse, Class 2  Misdemeanor (CRS 18-6-401(1)(A)); 3 counts of Simple Assault, Class 1 Misdemeanor (CRS 18-3-203(B)); 3 counts of 2nd Degree Assault, Class 4 Felony (CRS 18-3-203(1)(C)); Criminal Impersonation, Class 6 Felony (CRS 18-5-113(E));; Resisting/Interference with Police, Class 2 Misdemeanor (18-8-103(1)(A)); and is being held on an arrest warrant out of Chaffee County. Mr. White’s probation officer out of Oregon was notified of his arrest.

The Aspen Police thank the Pitkin County Sheriff’s deputies and Aspen Ambulance medics for their assistance in this incident.
