Free Watershed Exploration Events on County Open Spaces.

Extraordinary Places, Rare Orchids, Ridgeline Hike, Paddling Wetlands, & Fireflies too…

See fireflies in Colorado, paddle through mountain wetlands, hike along a ridge top with stunning views, view a rare orchid up close, and explore many distinct places this year with Roaring Fork Conservancy and Pitkin County Open Space and Trails. Discover the unique character of many open space properties and areas that you can not access otherwise. One of this year’s highlights will be a naturalist guided hike in the new 742 acre Droste Mountain Park Property complete with vast views of the upper part of the Roaring Fork Watershed.

For the past seven years, Roaring Fork Conservancy has partnered with Pitkin County Open Space and Trails to offer free Watershed Exploration events on county open spaces. This year they are offering 15 free Watershed Explorations that give the public an opportunity to visit many extraordinary places and view them with the lens of a naturalist guide. The places included in the series all have a significant role in the function of the Roaring Fork Watershed contributing to the health of our local rivers.

These 15 events are underwritten by Pitkin County Open Space and Trails. Roaring Fork Conservancy’s Watershed Exploration series also include events underwritten by the City of Aspen Open Space Program, Pitkin County Healthy Rivers and Streams Board, and the Aspen Water Department. Information and registration (which is required for all events) is available at www.roaringfork.org/events. Please call Roaring Fork Conservancy (970) 927-1290 with questions.

Roaring Fork Conservancy is the watershed conservation organization in the Roaring Fork Valley that brings people together to protect our rivers. Celebrating fifteen years of watershed conservation, Roaring Fork Conservancy focuses on keeping water in our rivers, keeping our rivers healthy, and keeping our riparian habitat intact. For more information call 927-1290 or visit www.roaringfork.org.
