APCHA Produces Field Guide to Affordable Housing

Contact:  Cindy Christensen, APCHA Operations Manager, 970-920-5455 or cindy.christensen@ci.aspen.co.us

Aspen, Colorado – March 5, 2012– The Aspen Pitkin County Housing Authority has just produced a new “Field Guide to Affordable Housing” brochure.  This is a new source of information meant to help potential buyers navigate the APCHA process and associated challenges of budgeting for HOA dues, financing costs, insurance, taxes and other expenses.

“The goal is to provide potential buyers with as much information as possible before they make the biggest purchase of their lives,” said Cindy Christensen, APCHA Operations Manager.  “We hope this gives our clients a broad picture of what expenses to expect in home ownership to allow them to make a wise, informed and realistic decision on their home purchase.”

The brochure is an easy-to-read resource for APCHA customers and includes among other things: a glossary of terms, essential worksheets to help buyers determine their budget, information on how to check credit rating and an outline of the APCHA process from bidding to buying.

A copy of the brochure can be obtained at the APCHA office or online at www.aspenhousingoffice.com.
