Aspen Mayor Mick Ireland has requested that the people of Aspen join him in sending support to the people of Haiti afflicted by the recent calamitous earthquake.
“Thousands are homeless without resources to grapple with this disaster,” Ireland said. “It’s so important that we help. I hope members of this community join me in sending support.”
Susie Krabacher has been leading the Aspen-based Mercy and Sharing non-profit for years, helping abused and abandoned children in Haiti. She is on the scene in Haiti now, and her husband Joe Krabacher is on his way to help, Ireland said.
“What you and I can do is make a tax deductible donation,” Ireland said.
