Affordable Housing HOA Free Seminar

The Aspen Pitkin County Housing Authority (APCHA) and the Housing Frontiers Group will be holding informational sessions for affordable housing homeowner’s associations on Wednesday, Jan. 20.

Mike Kelsen from Aspen Reserve Specialties will make several short presentations on the process of a new capital reserve study and what he will need from each HOA to complete the study. (Aspen Reserve Specialties will be performing a capital reserve study for APCHA’s entire deed-restricted program.)

“APCHA is experiencing more and more lenders requiring a certain amount of a capital reserve, along with other requirements, for a homeowner to sell their home or to refinance,” explained Cindy Christensen, operations manager for APCHA. “The study will show HOA’s what type of reserves they should have in order to maintain their complex, the life of the infrastructure, and when a major item would need to be repaired or replaced.”
