Pitkin County residents can obtain a Punch Pass good for 5 cubic yards of FREE waste disposal. The Pass is intended for Pitkin County resident waste ONLY and excludes businesses, commercial waste haulers, and residents of surrounding counties.
The Punch Pass can be obtained at the Solid Waste Center (SWC) by bringing two forms of proof of Pitkin County residency. Once the Pass is issued, it can be used any time during regular SWC hours until December 31st annually. The Punch Pas is designed to be used in ½ cubic yard increments and can be used until the date of expiration or until all 5 cubic yards of waste have been dropped at the SWC.
The Punch Pass program has been developed to eliminate the need for Free Dump Day, and will allow residents to dispose of unwanted waste as it is generated instead of storing waste until an annual event. The new program will eliminate the hassles of Free Dump Day while still providing Pitkin County residents an outlet for properly disposing of waste generated at their homes.
Pitkin County staff is excited to continue this program, which will provide a more convenient waste disposal option for residents. Questions can be directed to the SWC at (970) 923-3487, or for more information on what can be recycled or disposed of in Pitkin County, visit us online at www.aspenpitkin.com/solidwaste.
