Aspen is a small community endowed with a colorful history and special character and fragile environment.
Our uniqueness reflects the great natural beauty of our valley, the diversity of our citizens, our outdoor
activities and athletic endeavors, and our deep commitment to the arts, humanities and sciences. Together,
these enrich our sense of community and enhance the quality of life for residents, visitors and generations to come.
The Aspen City Council provides leadership, stewardship and service to the town. Through an open and friendly
process, we work in partnership with our residents to supply services not provided by the private sector in
order to meet their day to day needs, to preserve and enhance our community character, and to further the Aspen
Dream: the ideal of a community nourishing the mind, body and spirit of its citizens.
The City Council Budget is used to account for all of the direct expenses of the Mayor and the City Council and to
fund special projects originating from City Council.
The Council meets the 2nd and fourth Mondays each month in City Hall at 5:00 p.m.
The agenda is available
here after 5:00 pm the Friday before each meeting.
