Planning - Aspen's 3-D Model

The City of Aspen Community Development Department has recently implemented a 3-D Model of the City. This model was created in the SketchUp 6 computer program. SketchUp is required to open the files, and is available as a free download at www.sketchup.com. Hardware and software requirements for SketchUp are available here.

The model will be used in Public Hearings to evaluate projects for compliance with the recently adopted Commercial Design Standards, as well as other Land Use Code requirements.

There are two files available for download. The "Aspen Model" file does not include topography, while the "Aspen Model Topo" file includes topography from Google Earth. These files represent the first version of the City's model. Staff will periodically update the files as more of the City is modeled.
