City of Aspen - Electric Department

The City of Aspen Electric System provides reliable and economic electric service to approximately 2,371 residential, commercial, hotel, and condominium service connects. All service is within Aspen City limits.

A majority of the electrical system was put underground by two major projects in 1976 and 1986.

Do we need to call you if we are digging?

Yes. It is required that you contact the Electric Department for a line locate. This is for your safety and the and for protection of electric transmission lines. Call our office at 920-5148 to schedule a locate.

What if we have a power outage or other electric related emergency?

We are on call 24 hours a day. If you need to contact us after hours, please call City dispatch at 920-5310.
