Recycling In Aspen
“Garbage passes under our eyes virtually unnoticed, the continual turnover inhibiting perception. One of the handful of things that every American does every day – throw garbage away – is among the least likely of all acts to register. The cliché about garbage we’ve all heard is: “Out of sight, out of mind.” Yet even when it’s in sight garbage somehow manages to remain out of mind.”
(Rathje and Murphy, Rubbish!, p45)

Recycling is a great way to conserve resources, save energy and decrease pollution. Aspen’s Recycling Ordinance helps make recycling more convenient, accessible, and easy for residents and businesses alike.

Recycling is a process, not just an action. Recycling encompasses the collection of recyclable material, sorting and processing recyclables into raw material, and manufacturing the raw material into new products (www.epa.gov),and then buying recycled materials.
