New Food Safey/Inspection Information
Hands Off – New Regulation on Food Handling
Restaurants
Ensuring the safety of retail food establishments through inspections, trainings, plan reviews,
and other contact focusing on food safety practices, employee hygiene, and facility compliance.
The actual amount of food borne illnesses each year in this country is not know but has been
estimated as high as 33 million cases per year by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). A
thorough restaurant inspection program is instrumental in keeping these numbers low in a given
community. Inspectors perform routine inspections of food service establishments and also
provide valuable training both on site and during community wide seminars that train food
handlers on proper practices and procedures.
