The City of Aspen Transportation Department strives to provide convenient, affordable and safe commute alternatives to Aspen residents and visitors. Our goal is to preserve Aspen's character by keeping traffic congestion and pollution at a minimum.

Locals and visitors alike will find it easy to get around Aspen. Free and frequent in-town shuttles provide service to shopping, dining and recreation destinations. The Roaring Fork Transportation Authority also provides service throughout the valley, to the Aspen Pitkin County Airport and to Snowmass Village. Once in Snowmass, you can get around easily on the Village Shuttles.

Aspen also provides a comprehensive carpool program, encouraging commuters to share the ride to town. Residents who want the use of a personal car without the expense can join our innovative car share program, Roaring Fork Valley Vehicles.

The City also provides local employers with important transportation services through its Transportation Options Program. Commute alternatives save time, money and our environment. Consider your choices!

If you do drive to Aspen, we encourage you to do so safely and to park your car appropriately once you arrive.
