A happy, stress-free employee is better for business. Unfortunately, happy and stress-free does not describe the daily commute in the Roaring Fork Valley.

You can help your employees find a better way to work by joining the City of Aspen's Transportation Options Program (TOP). TOP provides its members with products, services and customized assistance that can help your employees make use of alternative transportation. Best of all, TOP services are free to members!

Carpool Matching

City staff will help your employees find carpool opportunities that allow them to use HOV lanes and park for free in town. Carpool matching events can also be held at your worksite.

Emergency Ride Home

TOP member employees are eligible for free emergency transportation should an unexpected situation arise during the work day. Transportation is provided by taxi and completely paid for by the City of Aspen. To be eligible, employees must have used an alternative transportation mode (bus, carpool, etc) on the day the emergency occurs.

Transportation Information Boards

TOP employers are provided free transportation information boards that display transit schedules, carpool matching applications and more.

Construction and traffic email alerts

TOP employers receive email alerts of important construction, road closure, or traffic news.

Monthly Newsletters

Our monthly TOP Story e-newsletter provides all the important transportation information relevant to local employers.

Incentives and PR

TOP employers are provided with incentive items that can be used to reward employees who use commute alternatives. In addition, TOP employers are frequently featured in newspaper and radio advertising - free PR for your business!

National Recognition

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has launched a program to recognize employers for their efforts to encourage alternative commuting. Currently, the EPA is creating its first-ever list of Colorado's Best Workplaces for Commuters. Several local employers including The Aspen Skiing Company, Pitkin County, The Aspen Club & Spa, Aspen Sports, Design Workshop and Wells Fargo are on this list. If your company becomes a TOP member, you could join them!
