Aspen, CO – May 14, 2013–  On May 16, 2013 more than 300 children, teachers and parents will line up in front of Boogies Diner to parade through the streets of Aspen. The parade ends on the pedestrian mall by the Wheeler followed with cookies and water.  All parents and children are welcome to participate by meeting at Boogies at 10am.  The annual children’s parade is a fun visual reminder of the number of young children that live in our community and how important they are to our shared future.  The month of May is declared Month of the Young Child in Pitkin County which officially recognizes the importance of early childhood education.

The Children’s Parade is a great day to celebrate our youngest members of the community. Early childhood is one of the most important and influential times in a person’s life; crucial brain development happens during this time that lays the foundation for future success in school and in life.
