Downtown Aspen Walk-In Health Insurance Enrollment Opportunity

National Health Insurance Deadline March 31st

In an effort to encourage as many people as possible to sign up for health insurance before the March 31st deadline, Pitkin County is offering a downtown-Aspen walk-in enrollment opportunity on March 28th, two days before the deadline.

“While we’re pleased that over 1,200 people in Pitkin County have signed up for health insurance, we know there are people out there, who for one reason or another, have waited until the last minute to sign up,” said Assistant Director of Pitkin County Health and Human Services, Mitzi Ledingham. “We’ll have experts available at the walk-in enrollment day that will help make the process much easier,” Ledingham said.

Walk-in enrollment will be held on Friday, March 28th from 9am to 4 pm in the Pitkin County Commissioner’s meeting room at 530 East Main Street in Aspen.Health coverage guides at the event will be bilingual in English or Spanish. They will also be versed in Medicaid for those who may qualify.

“It’s critical that people understand that after the March 31st deadline, uninsured Coloradoans cannot get health insurance coverage until 2015, unless they have a special circumstance like losing a job that provided coverage or moving out of state,” said Health Assistance Network Manager, Mili Vasquez.
